Dodgers Name New GM

Los Angeles, CA; The fans of LA don't always stick it out at the Dodger games but when the team makes the effort to put a highly competitive club on the field they are there to support their Dodger Blue.

The last couple of years at the Stadium have been disappointing to say the least. The ownership group has decided to make a move to revitalize the team on and off the field.

Today they introduced Mark Daniel as their new General Manager.

"Who?" you might ask. Well that is a good question. His resume isn't exactly loaded with Major League experience though he has led the CBLR Phillies to three consecutive playoff appearances.

"So?" you might ask. Well yea, who cares about the CBLR? What is the CBLR? Who really cares?

Is this an April Fools joke?

Well all that is going to matter to the LA fans is what Daniel can do for the Dodgers in the GABA.

"I understand that I have to prove myself here in the GABA. I am very excited to have the opportunity to turn this great franchise around after a couple of disappointing seasons" said Daniel as he stepped to the podium to address the press.

"What I bring with me is the willingness to put myself out there. I don't believe a team gets better by sitting back and waiting for something to happen. I don't believe in three or five year plans, the city deserves a winner NOW!" Daniel stated emphatically. "I am here to raise the Dodgers back to their former glory."

"I will not be very popular in the clubhouse because I don't believe that any one player is more important than the opportunity for the team to win. What does that mean? Well there are no untouchables in our organization. This doesn't mean that I will give players away but if I feel a deal will make the team better I will not hesitate to pull the trigger. Players should not get too comfortable in LA, keep the bags handy because the way to build a winner now is to go out and get the talent now."

When asked what the rest of the GABA can expect Daniel had this to say; "They can expect to hear from me and they can expect to get deals done if they are willing to offer talent for talent. Don't expect me to pull the trigger on deals that don't make the Dodgers a better team but also don't expect me to sit on my hands. In that other league [the CBLR] there were some 40 plus trades in three years and I was involved in nearly half of them. Building my team gets my blood going and I get antsy if I'm not working the phones to improve my club."

What will Daniel do for your Dodger Blue? Only time will tell but it does sound like he will not sit back and wait for things to happen. This could be a fun year to be a scribe in Los Angeles.
